Agricultural Best Management Practice Database

database

The Genesee River Coalition launched the Agricultural Best Management Practice (Ag BMP) Database in 2019. All farms participating in the New York State Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM) Program with implemented conservation practices are part of the database. Conservation and personal information is protected by the same laws that govern the AEM program and are aggregated on a sub-watershed, municipal, or county-level. The database helps districts organize and summarize agricultural best management practice information to understand the impacts of conservation, the most cost effective solutions to improve water quality, and the areas of concern. The database will be expanded in 2020 to include a modeling component that will quantify sediment and nutrient load reduction estimates from implemented conservation efforts.
